By Chris White, Columbus Ledger-Enquirer, Ga.
Feb. 18--Harris County defensive lineman Jordan Jenkins already is looking at the 2012 calendar.
Last week, the 6-foot-3, 230-pound junior received an invitation to play in the 2012 U.S. Army All-American Bowl and was notified Thursday that he would be receiving an invitation to play in the 2012 Under Armour All-America Game, according to his father, Ronald Jenkins.
Both of the national all-star games invite the top seniors from around the country to compete against one another each January. The Under Armour game is held at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Fla., and the Army bowl is played at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas.
Jenkins will play in only one of the games and is leaning about "85 percent" toward choosing the Under Armour game, according to his father.
Jenkins is rated a four-star prospect by recruiting site rivals.com and is considered by some recruiting experts as the state's No. 1 prospect for the 2011-12 season. He has scholarship offers from a long list of colleges, including Auburn, Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Kentucky, South Carolina, South Florida, Tennessee, Central Florida and Vanderbilt.
